The sign was erected at the road near the lodge of the then Hong Kong Governor, Sir Mark Aitchison Young, in Tsung Pak Long, Fanling. The Chinese and English names on the sign were written by Mr. Fung Hon-man who taught at Rural Training College and the Grantham College of Education.
