Rural Training College

The Rural Training College was founded in 1946 and was originally located in the Fanling villa of the then Governor, Sir Mark Aitchison Young. It was subsequently re-located to Cheung Yuen in Ping Shan. A distinctive feature of the College was its Agricultural Science program, which required students to practice farming methods in the College grounds. In the course of a two-year curriculum, in addition to core subjects, students also had to carry out administrative and teaching duties in experimental primary schools. The Rural Training College merged with the Grantham Training College in 1954.
