The Grantham College of Education used a Griffin as its emblem. The Griffin is an imaginary creature with the head and wings of an eagle and the body of a lion. It represents a defense of valuable things, a gift of knowledge, and a protection of schools and their students. The word "Forward" at the bottom means the continuing advancement of education.
