Description on the certificate (left to right) : "EDUCATION DEPARTMENT / HONG KONG / Sir Robert Black Training College / This is to certify that LU Kwong-fai has successfully completed the One-year Primary School Teacher's Course at Sir Robert Black Training College and has taught for two years as a teacher-on-probation to the satisfaction of the Director of Education." ; signed and dated : "Director of Education / Principal / Date: 30th March 1965"
Paper with black typing ink and black pen inscription. The embossed stamp of the Hong Kong Education Department is sealed on the signature of the Director of Education. The certificate is decorated with the emblem of the British Hong Kong Government and has a decorative pattern.
Sir Robert Black Training College was established in 1960, initially known as The Third Training College. It offered one-year programmes. Students had to complete a two year practice in order to graduate. This certificate allowed graduates to register through the Hong Kong Education Department and became Primary School Master (PSM). They could teach in local primary schools.
