The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is the World Championship Mathematics Competition for High School students and is held annually in a different country. The first IMO was held in 1959 in Romania, with 7 participating countries. It has gradually expanded to over 100 countries from 5 continents. The usual size of an official delegation to an IMO is (a maximum of) six student competitors and (a maximum of) two leaders. The contestants must be less than 20 years old and must not have any post-secondary school education. These tests may require multiple choice or numeric answers, or a detailed written solution or proof.
