Jiang Qi (1886-1951) went to study in Japan in his early years. He graduated from Tokyo Higher Normal School and gained his Bachelor degree in Politics from Meiji University. He was sent to the United States by the Ministry of Education in 1922, where he obtained his Master degree at Columbia University. He taught at several normal schools and universities, and once served as the school principal of the “No. 10 Provincial Normal School” in Wenzhou, as the President of Jinan University in Shanghai, and also the Dean of both the College of Arts in Anhui University and as President of Hubei Provincial College of Education.
